The Global Eco Transition gGmbH exclusively and directly pursues non-profit purposes within the meaning of the section “Tax-privileged purposes” of the German Fiscal Code (Abgabenordnung).

The purpose of the organization is

(a) the promotion of education, science and research on the energy and transport transition, on environmental policy, green economy, clean technologies, Co2 avoidance, climate protection, resource and material availability, potentials of renewable energies, circular economy, sharing economy, social transformation towards a sustainable society on a regional and global level in general.

(b) the promotion of nature conservation and environmental protection (including a change to 100% renewable energies on a regional and global level, effective climate protection and a “closed” circular economy)

(c) the promotion of development cooperation with a focus on energy and environmental projects

(d) the national and international solicitation of donations and endowments

3. Information on the tax benefits Expand

The Global Eco Transition gGmbH can accept donations and issue tax-deductible donation receipts. It is a non-profit limited company and exempt from taxes, including gift, inheritance and property tax.

The Global Eco Transition employs one managing director, three full- and parttime employees and occasionally an intern. President and board members work honorarily.

As a charitable organization (gGmbH), the Energy Watch Group is financed by philanthropic donations and project funding.

We are sincerely grateful to all our funders for their generous contributions to support our independent and nonpartisan efforts.

8. Information on the use of funds Expand

The funds received are used entirely to implement the goals of the Energy Watch Group. As elaborated in our mission statement, the aim of our work is threefold: Scientific analysis, policy advice and public outreach to increase global political action towards 100% renewable energy and climate protection.

Thereby, in 2021, the majority of our funds was attributed directly to pursuing our scientific research endeavors, including policy and legislative proposals. See our Publications to get a profound overview over what these have entailed in the past (notably 2021). These scientific publications were carried out inhouse by our staff as well as through external research partners. Moreover, funds were spent on our communications projects, with the goal of disseminating scientific findings and political developments on climate change and energy transition globally.

9. Corporate legal relationship with third parties Expand

The Global Eco Transition gGmbH is not affiliated with third parties under company law. This means that there is no parent company or subsidiary, no sponsoring association or outsourced business enterprise or other form of partner organization.
